Tanya & Steve

What a great day we had on Saturday, the weather was perfect. We had some locations picked for photos, we started at the Museum of Man & Nature in Winnipeg, Assiniboine park and finished off at The Gates. I absolutely loved the old movie theatre at the museum, what a cool location.

Congratulations, hope you guys have a blast in Vegas!!!

I had to also get a shot of the flower girl at the wedding... what a cutie!

Trash The Dress

Yesterday was so much fun, myself and 3 other photographers ( Patty Boge, Trevor Brucki and Jeremy Dueck ) went up to Gimili for a Trash The Dress shoot for a one of Trevor's clients. We headed up to Gimili in the afternoon to scout out some locations and get swarmed with fish flies... they were nasty up there. Turned out we shot a ways out of Gimili for all of our photos but was probably a good thing we had some awesome scenery to shoot in.

Here are just a couple of photos of Kristy that I got, I'm sure everyone else will be posting their shots shortly so make sure you check them all out.

Thanks Kristy and Blair for a great evening of shooting... you guys were awesome to work with... so much fun!

I got this shot of the other guys shooting at one point... poor Kristy, she didn't have a chance with all of us swarming around her :)

YFC Morden

I came across a video that I created for the Morden Youth For Christ some years ago now. I had the opportunity to photograph some of the kids that came to the drop in center at the time as well as some of the staff as they were reflecting on the nights events. I watched it again, I hadn't seen it in years now and it still brought tears to my eyes. Maybe it was because I got to know some of the kids in the video as I shooting, I'm not sure what it is but it's a powerful video. The song talks about using our gifts to better the world.. it's something that we all should consider. I hope you likes it... leave me your comments I'd love to hear your thoughts on this video.

Have a great weekend everyone and 'go light your world.'

Trash the Dress - grad style

Last night was a great night to be out shooting, the birds where singing, there was no wind... it was perfect. So perfect that we had to go find some of the dirtiest water and mud we could find to photograph in. Tiffany was amazing to work with and so willing to try anything, no matter how nasty the water was ... sorry Tiffany for dragging you through all the mud, but these shots prove that it was totally worth it.

We did a bunch of other shots as well that weren't quite as messy ... I'll get some of those up in the next couple of days.

Wind blown!

Well Saturday was far from the perfect day for a wedding... wind was howling at up to 70 km/h and it was raining and cold. Thankfully I got to photograph the perfect couple who had a perfect wedding in the midst of this. Colleen & Ray were awesome to work with, despite the rain and wind we got great photos for them. Congratulations guys and thanks for being so willing to work with the weather... the shots are proof that it was worth it. I'm looking forward to showing you the rest of the photos.

Drive by shooting!

Okay so a pretty bad subject line for this post I know but I thought it might get your attention :) Thought I'd throw up a couple of shots from Saturday's wedding with Nicole & Trevor... all too often we just show the end result but I thought I'd show you the shot as it was being made, thanks to my talented assistant. I am a trained professional so please don't try this at home ...

We were driving down Portage Ave and thought I had to get this shot for them... such a cool Limo You can check out their contact info here.

Just for Me.

We all live hectic lives and sometimes it's nice just to get out and do your very own thing that you love to do. My first love in photography was nature photography, as it is for so many people, I also used to be hard core into astronomy and still like to get out once in a while with my telescope and look around the heavens. Well the other night I had some time so I went out with my camera and tripod and did some fun night shots of the sky just for me. It was so nice being out of town and looking up and seeing thousands of stars fill the sky... I guess this is one advantage to country living :-)

I did a little light "painting" with this one... I had lots of time to do it as it was a 10 minute exposure.

What do you do when you take a 30 minute photo like this one... you can't leave, you can't turn on any lights, so you just throw down a blanket and stare up at the sky enjoying the sights... it was amazing.
