Beauty and the .... beast???

Well the one thing I'm sure of is that I definitely had a beauty for the photo... the beast part I'm not to sure of although, Monica did have her Dad's old Jeep for a lot of the shots which I guess one might call a beast :)
I had so much fun working with Monica for her grad photos, she was so totally cool, willing to go anywhere and do anything for photos and the shots turned out awesome because of it.
Here are a few of the many shots that we got yesterday... congratulations Monica... thanks for giving me the chance to photograph you.

Where did it all start...

I'm often asked how I got into photography, or where the interest started... well I stopped in at my parents place tonight and my Dad said he had to show me a photo that he had done earlier today... I couldn't believe the shot when I saw it... an absolutely beautiful image of a humming bird that he had captured in their backyard. So to everyone that's curious where it all started and how I got into photography... DAD would be the answer ... great shot Dad, I love you.

Agasizz Power Sports

A while back I did a photo shoot for Agassiz Power Sports... not the norm for us... no white wedding dress, just black chain grease and the smell of dirt bikes running... what a blast! The first part of the shoot started in the shop where we basically brought in our portable studio and did a shoot with some snowmobile gear... yes middle of summer and we were shooting snowmobile gear. Here are a couple of shots... thanks to Lori of Agassiz Power Sports for passing these on to me.

I think it was probably around 30 degrees Celsius the day we shot these photos outside... all I can say is I'm glad I was wearing shorts :-)

This was our "studio" for the shoot... below is the result of the image we got for them... a great shot!!

From here we went out to one of the employees own private race track...

Now just in case any of you thought that photography was always an easy job and you didn't get dirty doing it... well here are a couple of shots to prove you wrong... to get some of these shots we have to be right down in the action to get the shot you need...

Doing this gets you some really cool results ...

This last picture shows you what most people don't ever see, and that's the shower of dirt and debris that rained down onto me just after Mike passed by me and out of the shot, I literally had mud running out of my hair when I had a shower after the shoot... I loved it... anything for a photo!!!

Marina - WOW

Last week I had the privilege of photographing Marina... she is absolutely amazing to work with. She told me before we started that she had never been in a professional shoot before and the she wasn't the model type... well I say she's the model type!! We ended up with well over 1700 shots from our session. I wish I could share all of them with you but there are just too many to show them all.
